Has The Hunger Games found its Peeta Mellark?
Sources tell E! News that Weeds star Hunter Parrish is in serious negotiations to take on the male lead in this anticipated movie franchise. He confirmed to the site last night that he has "met the producers" and would be "grateful" for the opportunity.
Parrish hasn't seen a script for the film based on Suzanne Collins' bestselling novel trilogy yet, but it's one of the most sought after roles in Hollywood. (Alex Pettyfer is also under consideration to play Peeta.) Jennifer Lawrence is the leading contender to portray Katniss Everdeen.
Said Parrish of the outpouring of support he's received on Twitter: "You don't get much better than that. The true fans of the book. So regardless of whether I'm a part of the film or not, I feel honored to just sort of be thought of."
What do you think? Would this 23-year star be a good fit as Mellark?

lol josh hutcherson is by far the best peeta mallark. he's hot, funny, and super cute. btw he did get the part so i don't know why i'm typing this....all i know is that haters need to suck it.

i like josh hutcherson but he is not how i picture peeta hunter is a better choice because the book says that peeta has blond hair and blue eyes joshdoesnt.

Sorry but I really believe that Josh Hutcherson was (and is, thank God) the perfect choice for Peeta. If you've read what Hunter said in an interview regarding the role of Peeta, you would be appalled. He talked about how he wanted the role but not for the right reasons. He basically just wanted to star with Jen Lawrence (not the other younger actresses) and for me, that reason alone would not get you any role. Josh, on the other hand, focused on wanting the role because he wanted to play Peeta and how similar he is with him in terms of personality. That's the guy that should be given the role. And hold blazes, he did get it. So suck it up haters!

P.S You all just want That alex dude because he's hot. Peeta isn't all about being the hottest guy, Hunter is inocent look at he's smile, you can see it. Who cares if he's 23 they're getting older people to play people okay. It will be the best movie who ever they pick, It will be better if they choose HUNTER PARRISH PLUS he is good looking he's PERFECT FOR PEETA
